El origen del árbol del Tule / El Rey Kong Oy

Esta leyenda cuenta la historia de un niño muy fuerte que nació de un huevo y al crecer se volvió el protector y rey de los mixes. En la localidad oaxaqueña de El Tule clavó su bastón y ahí creció el árbol del Tule. Decidió descansar en el Cerro de los veinte picos, lugar desde donde cuida a los mixes.

The origin of the Tule tree / The King Kong Oy

This legend tells the story of a very strong child who was born from an egg and became protector and king of the Mixe people when he grew. On Oaxaca’s El Tule location, he nailed his cane and the Tule tree grew. He decided to rest on the Twenty Peaks Hill, where he looks after the Mixe people.
